Background

Started as an idea around 2015, the concept of Devvana appeared more and more relevant to our founders as time went by. Before incorporating as a Limited Company in the UK in 2024, we operated as a solely owned business to evolve the idea and the service over the years. We noticed more and more how our idea of Worry-free Software Development became more and more relevant.

We are a group of experienced software developers coming together to solve the current problems we see in the market. Our developers have experience working in large software development companies and agencies. So we know the market and the situation very well.

Current Market Problems

While the majority of our competitors are honest folks doing great work, there are many problem points you need to be aware of. Here are some of the major problems we see from a Client's POV in the current state of software engineering agencies.

Predatory Practices

• Contracts are like golden tickets. You will be squeezed out of every single possible penny by predatory contracts.
• Everything is done to prolong the contract including practices that makes things take longer than usual.
• The longer someone works for you, the more they cost you.
• The goal is to manage expectations, not to build great software.
• There are certain contracts out there that makes you pay a penalty fee if you cannot provide enough work for the agency for any period of the contract.

High Crowd, Low Quality

• You will find loads of companies that will want to build software for you. They will have a great online presence, but will have very little essence when you get to work with them.
• It could be that the workers who work to build your software are not highly skilled and could make things take longer than they need to.

Unreliable Estimates

• Estimates are built to prolong a project beyond necessity.
• A lot of fluff is added as processes to serve that purpose.

Seeing all this happen, we started to think there has to be a better solution. After a lot of thinking we came up with the following:

No Contract Games

• We offer easy to end contracts. If you are on a monthly rolling contract, you can end it with a 4 week's notice.
• If you are on a fixed term contract, you can end it with 4 week's notice and paying 60% of the remaining agreed upon amounts.
• If you are on a fixed price contract, you can end it with 4 week's notice.

These are subject to more details, but overall, we don't want to do predatory business to keep you in chains so that we can milk every little penny out of you.

Rewarding Customer Loyalty

• Once we bill you for a total of 960 hours, we give you a permanent 10% discount for all future billing.
• We do not charge you for project planning.
• We will offer you every money saving advice we can think of.

Pragmatism

• We will be pragmatic with you. You will know what we think.
• We will offer you different options to chose from and go with the one that matches your requirements and budgets.
• If your idea and budget doesn't match, we will tell you. We will work with you to find the right scope and estimates to get your product out there.

Amazing Support

• We aim to provide amazing customer support.
• You will have a direct email support system.
• SLAs cover fast response time and our developers are rewarded for fast and proper time to resolution.
• Live products receive a higher priority when it comes to support.
